Underwater Photography in Cenote Zapote

The cenotes of Puerto Morelos are an incredible place to take underwater photographs with the contrasts of light that most cenotes have.
We can simply use Natural Light to take surface or shallow photos like a Trash the Dress session after a wedding for example.
This time I used a Canon 5D camera with a Sea & Sea flash to photograph my friends from Guadalajara who just got married in Puerto Vallarta. They asked me for an underwater photo shoot as they are both PADI certified.

I love taking pictures underwater, people like to see themselves in photos in mystical places like cenotes

My main passion and hobby is underwater photography in cenotes, you can make underwater images where it seems that the actors are flying, although you only have one opportunity to photograph a unique moment, there is no time to change camera settings, about Everything if I am in manual which is what I like the most.

I have been taking underwater photographs since I was 19 years old, starting at Aquaworld at the age of 20. I would take photos for tourists in Cozumel and Cancun and then sell them to them. Now I am dedicated to taking more professional photos sent for publicity. Wedding photography is one of my favorites as well.
It is recommended to bring lights for video and a photo assistant in the zapote cenote. The cost to enter the cenote Zapote and dive is $ 250 pesos per person and $ 500 pesos to bring a professional camera. You will need to bring your printed dive certificates to leave a responsive hour before diving. The owner of the cenote is very friendly and approachable.

Cenote Zapote is one of the best recommended diving spots to see floating bells shallow in the cenote.
The cenote is perfect to dive around for 20 minutes and be able to take flash photos and play with the scenery that Zapote gives us in an atmosphere that literally seems like we are on another planet.
To take underwater photos in cenote Zapote, advance planning is required
