Diving in Puerto Morelos is diverse for any level

Diving in Puerto Morelos is the best aquatic activity you can do in its crystal clear waters, better known as the Mesoamerican barrier reef. You can find shallow areas as well as some of about 27 meters if you plan something more extreme is the Sunken Ship C-56 Juan Escutia or the current diving “Drift Diving” only for advanced divers
The fauna in the reefs of Puerto Morelos is diverse, we can find from a turtle, nurse shark, lobsters, rays in the sunken ship almost all the time, crabs, puffer fish, octopuses, barracudas and many colorful fish.
If what you are looking for is something more extreme and intense, Puerto Morelos has fabulous sites with caverns and caves reserved for certified and advanced divers in its Route of the Cenotes, which you can hire from various diving centers both in Cancun and Puerto Morelos, although We strongly recommend hiring from a local Puerto Morelos dive shop as they have the best experience in all aspects.
Remember that in order to dive in cenotes you must be certified at least in open water and hire a specialized cave guide who knows the sites that best suit your level of experience.

You can do decompression dives in Puerto Morelos
As is well known, each dive is a decompression dive, and in Puerto Morelos you can dive with decompression stops either in the sunken ship that is at 27 meters and that will take you to a bottom time of about 35 minutes with about 5 minutes of deco stop depending on whether you dive with air or Nitrox. It is recommended to follow the diving rules according to the diving instructor who accompanies you for this type of decompression diving.
